    • Product Rating: 2 star(s) launched to market but not ready to use
      by stickyb, Mar. 2, 2011
    • Pros: nothing comes to mind
    • Cons: no tomtom support is available to update anything
    • Comments:
Absolute nightmare. 12 months live services advertised - mine has 10 months. No updates available on line and as a result you cant update speed cameras, poi's or more importantly get any map updates. The device its self is ok but on 2 business trips... ...

    • Product Rating: 3 star(s) A Boat anchor when Camping
      by drdon1, May. 1, 2009
    • Pros: Accuracy is great, and the voices are not hard on the ears.It is lightweight and easy to use
    • Cons: Battery leaves a lot to be desired. If it is not pluged in for 2 days the battery is dead, and will not work.
    • Comments:
I dont think that my unit stands up to the TOM TOM name. One voice is bad but all of the others are great and very easy to listen to.It is sold as a portable unit, but if you take it camping you better take a couple of spare batteries in your pack.I would like to make some of the changes in information and maps on the unit, but you would have to take a computer with you. I like it but for the price it should be a lot better...

    • Product Rating: 3 star(s) Get Your Money's Worth
      by Mike I, Nov. 13, 2008
    • Pros: Helps travel to destinations without getting totally lost
    • Cons: The Retailer.
    • Comments:
Having purchased a TomTom One XL (Refurbished) on line from RadioShack; it was delivered after a week by FedEx Ground. On first inspection, the car charging cord was found to be defective (missing mini USB plated connector for the GPS charging plug-in). In addition I found the adhesive disc for dash board mounting (As per California State driving safety regulations) missing. I immediately contacted RadioShack Customer Care Service and gave them the details. After 2 weeks of excuses, and singing and dancing from the Customer Care Service Center Personnel as well as their Supervisor: yesterday I was rudely informed by the Customer Care Supervisor that I would be required to call up TomTom since it was not RadioShack's problem. I requested to speak to the Departmental Manager to which I was told that there was none and that he was in charge. I say "Shame on RadioShack Customer Service Center", I suffered over a two week period of calling as well as the frustrations. I hold RadioShack totally responsible for selling me a defective product and then opting not to give me required customer support. Today, I called up TomTom, and was instructed to supply them the documents required for proof of my purchase and ownership, which I did by sending them scanned purchase documents on line, Hopefully TomTom perhaps may help resolve my problems. I could easily afford buying a new car charging cord, but RadioShack did not deliver me the goods paid for and is a matter of "Practice of Good Business Ethics" and has become an issue. ...

    • Product Rating: 5 star(s) Don't Leave Home Without It
by MJ Cannon, Jun. 25, 2008
    • Pros: Plug n Play. I took it right out of the box, it came fully charged, and began inputing information.
    • Cons: The only bad thing, if you want to call it that, is you only have two choices for speech to text voices
    • Comments:
I have been inputing all of "what I plan to do and see" in my TOM TOM favorites. That way when I do make my trip, I will just have to tap my favs and be guided on how to get to them. I love to plan ahead and be organized. ...

    • Product Rating: 5 star(s) Just can't get lost
by off haak, Jun. 16, 2008
    • Pros: Easy to use anyone in the family seems to be able to use it. Clear precise instructions.
    • Cons: Some of the names are not really sounded out correctly but if you know the basic area you are alright.
    • Comments:
The ease of useing it seemed liked I have always had it in the car. Big screen so I can see it while I am driving. Good addressing and finding places around the area like motels and restuarants seems like I will use it quite often when traveling. Planning a trip to Washington DC and will surely be using it. Some of the names announced are not quite right but noone gets Seguin Texas right it is always sounded out like Sequin the bead and with the "g" sound but if you can overcompensate for the sound you will do alright. ...
