    • Pros: The optical quality of this lens is unsurpassable. Of course it serves beautifully as a macro lens,
    • Cons: Some might object to the weight; I don't. It is no trouble to use hand-held.

      I am a professional portrait painter, and do extensive professional photo shoots in service to my paintings. The Micro Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR lens is of course also a superb true macro lens. It is useful in many, many settings. I just shot a big event with the main feature happening 50-75 feet from me. My shots of the main subject with the 105mm lens are tack sharp, better than those with the 70-200mm VR lens with a 1.7 teleconverter. ...
