Description

The VS-50607 occupies the middle slot in Mitsubishi's Silver series of analog rear-projection TVs (RPTVs) for the year 2000. This 50-inch TV has a set of component video inputs to accommodate similarly equipped DVD players. Other video features include selectable color temperatures and dynamic black level expansion. It also has five presets for A/V memory by input and dual-tuner PIP (picture-in-picture); the latter lets you watch two TV shows simultaneously without the necessity of an external tuner (from, say, a VCR or cable box). The rear panel hosts two A/V inputs with S-video, a set of interlaced component video inputs with stereo audio jacks, and two RF (cable/antenna) inputs. You'll also find an RF output, a composite video monitor output with variable audio, and one Active A/V Network system control jack. The front panel sports A/V inputs with S-video. The VS-50607 has an MTS stereo tuner and two 4-inch full-range speakers that fire to the front. The internal amplifier delivers 10 watts of power per channel. Audio extras include a simulated surround sound setting plus bass and treble controls. The supplied universal remote control can operate up to five different devices. The V-Chip parental control system and TV lock time keep Junior away from objectionable broadcasts. -- EM
