"Lost-Not"
by Kirp, Nov. 26, 2008 - Pros: It gets me where I'm going when I am not familar with areas.
- Cons: Beware of the avoidances. clicked them all and took me all the back roads. Avoided highways. Duh
- Comments:
I am pleased with the price. My sister bought the next model up and paid 3X the amount for a few extras that are nice. I got more bang for the buck. ...

Great value, great device
by billatl, Oct. 19, 2008 - Pros: Easy to use
- Cons: Very seldom it takes a bit longer than I want to acquire the satellite--usually when I'm leaving a parking deck.
- Comments:
This was a remanufactured device that is simple to use, meets my need for directions to places we travel and the price was terrific. I was impressed enough to order the same device for my wife's car. ...

Garmin Rocks!
by spc9213, Oct. 7, 2008 - Pros: calculates or re-calculates routes quickly, very accurate
- Cons: latest software and upgrades should have been applied as I just bought it. Cost of maps is a little extreme.
- Comments:
I've looked at other GPS systems, and I couldn't pass this up for the price. I bought a reconditioned unit for $99 with a 2-year extended warranty. Compare that to a $499 unit that you still need to purchase the latest maps for, and it makes this a downright steal! It works great, great battery life, charged from my laptop or from the cigarette lighter. Very reliable, although sometimes it may take a little while to acquire a satellite (usually when I need it the most)...

great buy
by cats12188, Apr. 11, 2008 - Pros: much better than carrying around maps.
- Cons: sometimes poor sattelite connection on cloudy days
- Has Owned Product: 4 months
- Comments:
I got this for my husband for Christmas. I have used it more than he has as I travel for work. It is much better than carrying around lots of maps and keeps destinations in it's memory so you don't have to enter it again. On one or two occasions, I lost...

Great value for the money.
by Sody, Feb. 24, 2008 - Pros: Value for price - reputation of Garmin
- Cons: Cost for updates
- Has Owned Product: 2 years
- Comments:
We travel 8k-10k miles a year towing an RV. The greatest benefit of this GPS to us is knowing which lane to be in when exiting a busy freeway or when making turns in cities, as changing lanes isn't always easy with a 60' long unit. Nowhere in the info w...

Could be better
by Nevik, Feb. 13, 2008 - Pros: Ease of use
- Cons: Most addresses are not accurrate
- Has Owned Product: 1 year
- Comments:
I received my first one a year ago and at Thanksgiving, bought a second one. It is very easy to use and pretty good for the most part. Several street addresses are not very accurrate. For instance, they can be as much as 1/4 mile off and having you lo...

No good piece of junk. It worked for 17 days, then died. I took it back to
Wal-Mart. They said Garmin would only guarentee it for 15 days, and that I
had to contact Garmin. I wrote them, a month later they wrote back and said
buy a new on...

Jury's still out
by Bob, Jan. 8, 2008 - Pros: Easy to set up and use; good screen and messaging
- Cons: Poor receptions or dropped satelites;questionable routing
- Has Owned Product: 5 days
- Comments:
I paid $199.99 with free shipping at Circuit City.com. First unit had to be returned due to open kit repackaged with broken driver disc. The new unit was easy to set up and use. During my first test drive of about 20 miles the unit had 10-12 occasions of...
