If getting from point A to point B involves passing through uncharted territory, you'll want to bring Garmin's portable StreetPilot C320 navigation system along for the ride. This powerful system features a built-in GPS antenna, and delivers accurate, turn-by-turn GPS navigation, plus a whole lot more. Thanks to its helpful touchscreen controls, it's remarkably easy to use — you can have your destination loaded and be ready to go in seconds. The system comes loaded with a basemap that covers major metropolitan areas in the United States. More detailed maps are available on the CD-ROM that comes in the package. You simply select the areas through which you'll be traveling, then load those maps from your computer onto the StreetPilot using the included USB card. The 3.5" color screen shows you in vivid detail exactly where you're going. Voice prompts through the two built-in speakers accompany the visual maps, telling you which roads to take and when you need to make a turn. The maps offer two different viewing modes: the traditional overhead view, and an interactive, 3-D ground-level view. When you plug in a destination, you can enter a specific address, intersection, or road name, and modify several different route preferences (you can choose not to take toll roads, for example). As you're driving, you can find a host of points of interest in your area, including restaurants, gas stations, hotels, and much more. The CD-ROM holds over five million points of interest, so wherever you go, you'll be able to find something to do. An internal, rechargeable battery, lets you use the StreetPilot inside or outside the vehicle. Car and home power adapters are also included. The suction-cup mount makes it easy to attach the system to any flat glass surface.
