The solvit car seat I received was scuffed up and had a small rip on the front. It looked like this item had been sold and attempted to be re-packaged. Also the color was not at all what I expected (I ordered light beige, but received a dark brown "YUCK"). When I contacted customer service via email the problem was left unsolved...I shouldn't have to pay a 10% restocking fee and the cost of mailing the item back for a product I'm disappointed in. It’s not my fault the product had a rip in it, and they sent the wrong color etc...Why should I go through the hassle of paying more and taking time out of my day to re-ship??? Why was reshipping this the only option? If this was my company I would have sent an item in proper repair out immediately. The customer service person also blamed my computer monitor for the difference in color...I've ordered plenty of items including clothing over the internet and never had a problem...if there is an issue with colors being incorrect due to so called "monitor imperfections" it should be stated next to the picture of the product. For instance "although this item may appear candy apple red it is actually bright yellow" that would help your customers make an informed decision. Last time I ck'd dark brown and light beige are pretty drastic color differences. Whenever I order items online from Amazon, Barnes N Noble, JC Penny, Wal-Mart, Target, Borders etc...I'm confident I will get what I ordered and if not the problem will be fixed rapidly...I gave your company the benefit of the doubt and made them aware of the problem and they blew me off...unless I receive my money back or a new product without a rip in it and the correct color I will ensure I make an effort to inform my network of folks not to purchase from your company... We apologized for the problem our customer experienced with the product. We are often asked if we sell “used or seconds” because of our reasonable prices. We only sell NEW products and they are warranted against manufacturer’s defects! The customer was offered the option to return the item per the manufacturer’s return policy for defective items. The manufacturer issues a “call tag”, which allows for the item to be picked up for return at no cost to the customer and a new item is sent out. The customer could have received a replacement on the item at no cost. It was not clear what more we could have done.
Regarding color, we tried to explain the limitations of showing true color as viewed on line, as stated in our Customer Care section. Monitors can vary in their color adjustment and fabric dye lots can vary from the manufacturer. All of the pictures we use are uploaded onto our site directly from the manufacturer.
As for restocking fees and costs to mail products back, these fees apply when an item is returned because the customer decides they do not like the item and wish to return it. The return policy is also clearly stated on the web site. We invite our customers to compare our Return Policy with other Pet Companies they find on the internet.
We strive to keep things simple and pass the savings on to our customers in the form of good pricing!
